Hey everyone...or, anyone in this wiki. Jewelpet Wiki admin TacticalMaster here, to discuss the naming of the second Jewelpet Anime series.
I was wondering. In litteral English translation, is the name of this second Jewelpet anime title is "Jewelpet Twinkle?" Because I am certain of the title's romaji. It says "tinkuru," apparently sounds close to "twinkle." In Romaji, it practically closely translates to "twinkle," if you ask me. Because the spelling of that, it's close enough to confirm it's "twinkle."
However, around the internet, people think the real name of this second anime series is "tinkle." Well, because of the missing "h" sound in the Romaji. Even however, google keeps redirect.
The thing is, I'm skeptical of "tinkle" over "twinkle." "Jewelpet Twinkle☆" is actually more like it. I searched it on MyAnimeList.com and it says that. But everybody's been calling the series However, I still support the "twinkle." But what do you think?
So, if you...or anyone is reading this, what are your opinions of the real titling?
The Japanese spelling of "Twinkle" is とうりんくる (Tourinkuru instead of Tinkuru).
Of course, some animes actually have their own spellings of words... so who knows?
i don't know. i mean, they use the word tinkle in a magic incanation at some point (tinkle, tinkle, magical charm, winkle, winkle, jewel flash!) if you think about it, the word tinkle rhymes with winkle in that magic incanation. it's possible that the name of the series is jewelpet tinkle, but i still don't know.
I know the direct answer behind this. Amarao, the translater for Critter Subs made it "Tinkle" as an inside joke. It's funny because I have a little Jewelpet book that actually spells it "Tinkle" in English within it as well.
with japanese katakana pronouncing english words, there isnt really one official way to do it for most words. maybe they thought tinkuru was the best way to convey the word twinkle. others may have their own way of saying it, as Himespetchi suggested tourinkuru.
but no, the english title is not tinkle. tinkle is slang for urination so that wouldn't be the best idea...
