An Eyecatch (アイキャッチ Aikyatchi?) (or Bumper) is a short intermission sequence used to begin and end a commercial break during TV broadcasting. It consists of a short segment consisting of an illustration card or a short animated sequence, often lasting for around three seconds.
In the Jewelpet anime series, their eyecatches consist mostly of illustrations of Jewelpets and humans, sometimes altogether. Some series have animated eyecatches, though it isn't uncommon.
