Aoi Arisugawa (有栖川 あおい Arisugawa Aoi?) is a major character in Jewelpet. She is Sapphie's human partner and Rinko and Minami's classmate. She is the third person who is tasked with finding the lost Jewelpets, after Rinko and Minami.
Appearance[]
Aoi is a young girl with white skin and brown eyes. She has large blond pigtails with side hair with inward curve ends.
Her primary attire is a school uniform. It consists of a short blazer with a shirt underneath and a pleated miniskirt. She wears knee-high leather heeled boots as her footwear. Aoi also wears a ribbon tie with Sapphie's Jewel Charm and pearl beads decorated in the middle.
Personality[]
Aoi is calm with a gentle heart. She has always wanted to have a real best friend even with her highest status. She can feel lonely and sad at times, but she's very affectionate to Sapphie. Aoi has a crush on Naoto Sakuragi. She is also often shy and timid.
History[]
Aoi is the daughter of the principal of the school Rinko attends. She is the richest girl in Takaragaseki, since her family owns a lot of establishments.
After her Jewelpet partner (Sapphie) was awakened, everyone convinces her that her best friends were by her side all along and after that, she helped Rinko and Minami in finding the other lost Jewelpets. She is taken care of by her trusted butler Genshirou in her mansion when her parents are away.
She worked part-time in a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant with Naoto.
Etymology[]
- The name Aoi means "blue" (あおい) in Hiragana, relating to Aoi's partner being Sapphie (who is a Jewelpet named after the sapphire; a blue mineral).
- Aoi's surname means "exist" (有) (), "nest, rookery, hive, cobweb, den" (栖) () and "river, stream" (川) ().
- Her surname is Arisugawa: maybe Arisu, translated as "noble", is chosen because Aoi comes from a wealthy family, while "gawa" means "river".

- Aoi's voice actress is Miyuki Sawashiro who also voices Labra, Opal, Chite, Shouko Aizawa, Lady Boot, Lady Rector and Levin.
- Aoi shares her first name and surname with Aoi Kiriya and Otome Arisugawa from the Aikatsu! series.
