Masago Kuroda (黒田 真砂 Kuroda Masago?) is a secondary character from Jewelpet Sunshine.
Appearance[]
Masago is a teenager with a slender build, slightly tanned skin, light brown, short and slightly spiky hair and brown eyes.
His usual outfit is the Sunshine Academy male uniform, mostly white with dark blue details.
Personality[]
Masago's personality contrasts with that of his best friend Mikage's. He is very open, friendly and easy to get along with. On the flip side, he can be thoughtless and inconsiderate, as seen when directing his movie starring Garnet.
History[]
Masago is the clown of the Plum class. He's good friends and roommates with Mikage Shiraishi and later Jasper. He develops a crush on Garnet starting from episode 10a, after seeing her in many attractive cosplay outfits.
In A Star is Born, Yay!, he tries to confess to her through directing his film, but Garnet rejects him politely as she's more focused on her dream and isn't into romance for now. He breaks into tears after watching Garnet's after-credits message, but thanks to her, he is motivated to achieve his dream as a film director.
In the epilogue, he has finally become work partners with Garnet by becoming a famous film director himself.
Etymology[]
- The name Masago means "real, genuine" (真) (ma) and "sand, grit" (砂) (sago).
- Masago's surname Kuroda means "black" (黒) (kuro) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta/da).
- Masago's family name Kuroda contains the word "kuro" (黒), which means "black". It opposes Mikage's own family name Shiraishi, which contains "shiro" (白), meaning "white".
